Rustick Woodworks is a Calgary, Alberta based company that is owned and operated by yours truly, Kevin McDonald. I manage everything from procuring raw materials, drafting and building furniture, and — of the upmost importance — superb customer service.

This hands-on approach ensures that absolutely nothing is lost in what I call the “telephone game.” Attention to detail is a defining characteristic of exceptional furniture building and the best way to facilitate this is good old fashioned face to face contact.

I pride myself in providing completely personalized service throughout the entire course of a project. The end results? No surprises and the piece of furniture you've been dreaming about.

You could say that my log furniture is “built from the ground up.” Each piece is made from Alberta’s official tree, Lodgepole Pine. I personally select and log the trees from either Moose Mountain in Kanaskis Country or Benjamin Creek in the Waiporous area.

Selected wood is hand peeled and, following this, moves into the drying process. When the logs have been seasoned to a desirable moisture content, they are then transformed into a beautiful heirloom that you and your family will come to cherish over the years to come.

Rustick Woodworks’ pine furniture is made from solid Eastern White Pine. To further enchance the strength of each piece, three quarter inch Knotty Pine Plywood is used to enforce structural areas.

From the dry climate in Calgary to humid areas such as Victoria, strength, durability and longevity — regardless of region — are among my prime considerations in crafting pine furniture.
